Botulism Toxin (Botox)

Botulism Toxin (Botox)

Botulinum toxin treatments can help you look more refreshed and relaxed by softening lines and wrinkles that form from everyday facial expressions like frowning, squinting or raising your eyebrows. These lines can make you look tired, stressed or older than you feel.

By gently relaxing the muscles of the face and neck that cause these movements, botulinum toxin smooths out the overlying skin. The result is a softer, more youthful appearance that still looks natural. You will still be able to show expression, just with less creasing. Many people find that they look more rested and feel more confident after treatment. It is a subtle but noticeable improvement often described as looking like a better version of yourself.

Botulinum toxin is commonly used to treat a variety of areas in the head and neck to help smooth lines and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. In the forehead, it can soften horizontal lines, while between the eyebrows it targets frown lines often called “11s.” Around the eyes, it can reduce crow’s feet for a more refreshed look. In the neck, it can help with bands or horizontal lines, and it is also used to soften a square jaw by relaxing the masseter muscles. Additionally, subtle treatments around the mouth and chin can improve the overall balance and harmony of the face including down turning of the corners of the mouth, smokers lines and dimpling of the chin.

Botulism toxin is also used to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in the armpits.
